Interfaith Ministry I honor all paths, including agnostic and atheist beliefs. I am a spiritual, but non-religious person. My joy is in both honoring the unique path and beliefs of others and helping people discover what is true for them. I honor all faiths and traditions, including atheistic belief systems, in all of my work. It is the greatest pleasure to perform a ceremony that does not compromise people's beliefs and vision. Performing weddings came as a surprise to me. After my ordination, I was immediately asked to perform a wedding for a friend. I loved it, and it became a personal mission to provide intimate wedding services that are personalized and affordable for anyone who wants them. ![]() When I tell people I'm a minister, they often tell me they are spiritual but don't really believe in God. I ask them to tell me about the God they don't believe in and I usually don't believe in that God either. These conversations were the beginning of spiritual direction, counseling and coaching. I find in my counseling and coaching relationships that I am the student not the teacher. It is not about supplying answers as much as it is walking with someone to allow them to find what is right for them. It's about discovering how to be happy in the question, even when there seems to be no "right" answer. It's so inspirational to see the strength and wisdom people find in themselves through the coaching process. Many couples do not believe in baptism for their children, but want to officially welcome a new baby into their family and circle of friends through ceremony. Helping to create this experience is beautiful and life affirming. Because so many do not follow a traditional religion today, we can sometimes feel something is missing. This is why I love alternative ministry. There is no greater reward than helping someone mark an important life event with personal ritual that is meaningful to them and their loved ones, because it is created by them, with their unique story and spirit. |
